I am blessed to be a faculty member at AVCS, and I look forward to praying, learning, and growing with my new Conqueror family. My career as an English teacher began officially in 1998 at The University of Massachusetts when I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in English and started teaching middle school ELA. I furthered my professional work at UMass for another three years and obtained a Master of Education degree in English with a focus on Secondary Curriculum and Instruction. In 2009, I graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Master of Arts degree in English Literature. Over the years, I have been blessed to teach reading and writing to every grade level of student; experience has shown me that when a child is exposed to good storytelling and when a child is encouraged to share his or her personal and creative stories, then sharing, listening, and meaningful living can flourish. When not teaching at AVCS, I enjoy drawing, yoga, music lessons, birdwatching, hiking in scenic places, baking bread, and writing.
