My name is Ms. Vanderbroek. I cannot tell you how happy I am to be working with middle school students and teaching Study Skills. Teaching students to maximize their time with techniques that work for them is a critical skill as they learn to be independent in their academics.

I am loving getting to know each of our awesome middle schoolers. They are so fun and make me laugh everyday. I will love getting to know each of them better and all their uniqueness! I will be doing everything I can to make this a wonderful class.

I have so many fun and inspiring things planned for the year and I can’t wait to show you all we will be doing.

Here are some quick facts about me!
• I’ve been teaching at AVCS since 2004
• My bachelor’s degree was in Psychology
• I worked in Aerospace for ten years
• I love coffee and Baby Ruth Bars
• I live in Mission Viejo
• I love being in the mountains
• And last but not least, I have two amazing sons named Luke and Paul.

A favorite verse we'll be focusing on is Joshua 1:7.
"Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever to go."
