4th Grade Teacher

Hello, AVCS Family! I am so excited to be teaching 4th grade again this year.

I am originally from Memphis, Tennessee, but grew up visiting family in Southern California. I received my bachelor’s degree in English from the University of San Diego. After working in marketing for a few years, I ended up moving to Vietnam for 18 months to teach English. I fell in love with teaching and after another year and a half working abroad, I moved home to pursue a masters in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University.

I now live in Newport Beach with my husband and Bernedoodle pup, Bernie. I enjoy hiking, yoga, reading, writing, and traveling any chance I get. As an avid traveler, I hope to inspire a curiosity for the world in my students.

I am proud to be a part of a community as wonderful as the one we have here at AVCS. I am passionate about guiding students not only in their academic and social spheres but spiritually as well.

My favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 16:14, “Let all that you do be done in love.” This is a standard that I strive to live by daily, and I hope to teach my students to always lead with love and kindness.
