Jennifer Maltzman

5th Grade Teacher

Hello! My name is Jennifer Maltzman, and I am a fifth grade teacher at AVCS. I am originally from Lake Isabella, a small town in central California. Before becoming a multiple subject teacher in 2019, I worked for Camfel Productions, a Christian nonprofit organization that hosted character education assemblies at K-12 schools across the continental United States. It was during my year-long tour through 38 states that I first discovered my passion for teaching and spreading God’s love to kids in need. I received my Master of Arts degree in Learning and Teaching from the University of Redlands and began teaching in low income areas. After meeting my spouse, we moved to Laguna Hills to set down roots, and I happily joined the AVCS family.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

This Bible verse has encouraged me through many moments in my life, from losing loved ones to gaining them, from building my career to building a community. It is my calling at AVCS to remind students of God’s provision and encourage them to persevere no matter what may stand in their way. I am greatly looking forward to a school year filled with academic and spiritual growth, and I am excited to see what amazing things my students will do this year and the years to come!

Blessings,
Jennifer Maltzman
