My 2 children have had the great honor of attending AVCS for the past 3 years. We have been so blessed to be a part of the AVCS family, and it truly is a family. Each morning you are personally greeted at the curb by various members of the administration, including the school Pastor, Principal, Vice Principal, Athletic Director, etc. Whether they are opening car doors or acting as the crossing guard, they always greet us by name while accepting a tackling hug from my 5 year-old. From the JK/K level, the children are learning to play musical instruments, attending computer classes, bi-weekly PE classes, art classes, science classes, fieldtrips, growing a garden, getting to celebrate their birthday, learning about God and the Bible, you name it, and AVCS has it. There are also amazing after-school enrichment classes offered and a wonderful after-school and summer program. My kids often protest that they want to stay at school longer and don’t want me to pick them up. As for the other parents and families, everyone is down to earth, approachable, and kind. The environment is inclusive and there are no “outsiders”. The office staff and administration go above and beyond. When my daughter was in kindergarten, she got upset one day over a loose tooth and was sent to the office. Rather than getting a phone call to pick her up, I received a call from the Vice Principal explaining how they worked together to remove the tooth and now she was happily back in class. She even took a video of it on her phone and sent it to me. Amazing! At the end of our 1st year at the school, our family suffered a great tragedy. The outpouring of love and support that we received from the school and other families was absolutely incredible. All the kids in my daughter’s class made her cards, families took turns delivering us food and I think the entire school showed up for the funeral. I honestly don’t know how we would have gotten through such a difficult time without the love and support of the AVCS family, we are incredibly grateful.

We have spent the last 13 years at AVCS and have been abundantly blessed by our experiences here. No school is perfect, but I have seen a constant evaluation of the school’s performance by the administration, and when things aren’t working, they make every effort to make it right. They have always had an open door policy and are there to hear your concerns or comments. I have always felt that I am part of a team who wants my child to succeed and is more than willing to partner with me to make that happen. I will always look back on these years with full confidence that we made the best choice to have our children at AVCS.

We are so blessed to be at this school and part of the AVCS community! It has been the most incredible year for my kids – these teachers have inspired, encouraged, and supported them on so much more than just an academic level. The math program is fantastic and challenging, and all of the “extras” like having a real PE coach, music teacher, drama teacher, computer teacher, and all the hands on science have been wonderful additions that we were missing in public school. We have been at two different public schools and have had the same issues with both – burnt out teachers and staff, too many kids in the classrooms, and a lot of the fun being cut out. School is about more than math and language arts, and you see that here at AVCS. Everyone is always smiling – from the office staff to the principal and teachers – you never feel like they are too rushed to talk to you. From day 1 we have felt welcomed into this community and my kids have made the most amazing friends. This is truly what school is all about.

My two children have been going to the school for two years now. I moved my children from public school ( which was the best academic decision). In comparison to the local public schools and more prestigious private schools, AVCS offers: smaller class sizes, higher test scores, lower tuition and smarter budgeting. There are paid individuals who monitor the children during recess and lunch. The school participates in a great lunch program that makes ordering healthy food easy. Every grade has the opportunity to go on multiple field trips, including trips that are multiple days and out-of-state. The staff is tremendously friendly and warm. The principal and vice-principal take their time to speak and listen to everyone. The school provides individual assistance for children who may be behind and individual assistance for children who are ahead. The school genuinely is concerned for every need of every child. I have a strong background in psychology and find this school practices some of the most advanced learning techniques that are supported in recent journal studies. Additionally, the calm loving environment, facilitates advanced learning, security and emotional balance.

This school is TRULY a Christ centered school. I have witness the amazing grace of God here especially in the last two weeks. The school, the parents, the staff, the pastors, and students have shown an amazing outpouring of love for those in need. This is what a Christian School is all about. My children have been going here for the past eight years and I’m so honored to be part of this Christian community.

Excellence in all aspects of education and spiritual growth. Our child was prepared for H.S. and is excelling socially, in academics and contiinues to grow in his relationship with Christ! There was no feeling real or percieved about being ‘in’ or ‘out’ with the school or other parents- we felt welcome to participate as much [or little] as we wanted or were able. Parking lot and traffic? well, they move a whole bunch of folks in and out quite well… being 5 minutes early at drop off and pick up alleviates stress…nobody is on time anymore, so take advantage of the late starts of others!
