The Admissions Process
Follow these steps to join the AVCS family. Our admissions team is here to guide you every step of the way.
Step One
Submit an Online Application
Applications for the 2026–2027 school year are open! Begin by creating an account and submitting your online application through our admissions portal.
Documents you will need:
- Report cards and standardized test results from the past two years (2nd–8th grade applicants only)
- A current teacher recommendation
- A non-refundable $125 application fee is required at submission.
Submitting an application does not guarantee admission.
Step Two
Student Assessment
All new students participate in an age-appropriate assessment prior to admission. The admissions office will contact families with completed applications to schedule their appointment.
- Junior Kindergarten: No assessment required, students must turn 4.0 years old by Spring 2026
- Kindergarten: 15-20 minute readiness assessment
- Grades 1-8: Approximately 45 minutes (math, reading and writing)

Step Three
Family Interview
After the application and assessment are complete, families may be asked to participate in a 15–20 minute interview with school administration. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know your family and share more about our community.
Step Four
Submit the Online Enrollment Packet
If AVCS has a spot to offer, you will receive an email with a link to the enrollment packet within two weeks of completing the assessment and interview.
To accept your child's spot, please submit:
- Completed enrollment packet
- Birth certificate
- Current immunization records
- A non-refundable $600 registration fee is required.
Your child is officially enrolled once the packet and fee have been submitted.

Enrollment for new eligible students is determined by the following factors, reviewed holistically to find the best fit for our community:
What Happens If a Grade Is Full?
If a grade level is full, applicants will be placed in our waiting pool. As openings occur, families are contacted based on the enrollment considerations and best fit for AVCS, not by application date alone.
We encourage all interested families to complete the application process fully. Being on the waiting pool does not close the door, many of our families have joined us this way.
